The DESMI sprinkler and fire pump units can be supplied for permanent installation,
in container or in portable version.
Portable pump units
Pump and prime mover are built together and supplied as a compact unit which can be easily moved. In most cases self-priming pumps are being used. The pump can be supplied with electric motor, or diesel or petrol engine including battery and fuel tank. Portable pump systems are also supplied in explosion proof design.
Complete container solution
The complete sprinkler or fire pump system can be supplied in a container, mounted with all internal pipings and ready for assembly with supply and discharge pipes.
Sprinkler pump with electric motor or diesel engine
The complete unit is mounted on a base together with electric motor or diesel engine. DESMI's pumps are also designed for diesel drive. Pump and engine are built together on a base with flexible coupling. The base is well dimensioned, carefully leveled, and ready for simple and quick assembly on the spot. The complete unit is fitted with fuel tank and start batteries.
Electronic control unit
A complete sprinkler system requires an electronic control unit. The panel is connected to the pressure sensor of the piping system, and the pump unit automatically starts functioning when a signal of pressure drop is received. At the same time the control unit can be used for manual start and for the necessary periodic test starts. The electronic control panel can be connected to two or more pump systems including jockey pump.
Specifications
The DESMI sprinkler pumping systems are designed to fulfill the authorities' requirements. The systems are being constantly improved to comply with national and international fire protection regulations both on and off shore and within the maritime sector. Thus the DESMI sprinkler systems have been made to comply with the requirements from organizations such as: LPC (FOC), NFPA, FSAB, SKAFOR, VdS, CEA, etc. DESMI also follows the harmonization carried out by the EEC in order to establish joint European regulations within fire protection. The EEC have set up a technical group, TC 191. Their task is to introduce common European rules for fire protection equipment, and DESMI's fire pumps have been adapted to these regulations. In short: DESMI follows the development within the requirements specified by the authorities so that DESMI products always fulfill theserequirements.
SA50T
- The light weight emergency fire pump.
SA50T is a mobile emergency fire and bilge pump which weights as low as 50 kG. This light weight pump is specially designed for easy handling on board vessels.Capacity: 24 m³/h x 26 mWCThe construction is based on the well known DESMI SA pump series. The pump casing is made of seawater resistant aluminium and the impeller of stainless steel. The pump is close coupled to a new developed light weight hand start Hatz diesel engine. Electric start is available as an option.
Engine sizes:
The pump unit is mounted in a stable carrying frame. The flanges of the pump are equipped with Storz C-2" couplings for quick and safe connection of the hoses.The low weight of the unit and the stable frame make it possible to move the pump around, even in bad weather.
