DESMI is the brand name of the products of A/S De Smithske and has gradually become the most often used name of the company as well. A/S De Smithske was founded in 1834 and established as a limited company in 1875 with the reg. No. 538, thus being one of the oldest companies in Denmark.

The mission of A/S De Smithske is to cover the demand for transportation of fluids in plants established by public and private entities through design, development, sales, projecting, production, procurement, installation and servicing of high quality customer-adapted products and solutions. The primary customer groups are:

• The maritime market (shipyards, shipowners, ship designers, navies, coast guards, and fishing)
• Public utility (waste water, thermal power stations, and water supply)
• Plants (fire protection, water supply, sewage plants, and waste water)
• Industry (process industry, OEM, and food processing)
• Environmental authorities, oil companies, environmental salvage companies.
